1973年東京都東大和市生まれ
1996年日本大学芸術学部写真学科卒業後、
東京スポーツ新聞社写真部入社。
サッカーセリエA（中田英寿、中村俊輔など）
大リーグ（イチロー、新庄剛志など）ゴルフ
（マスターズ、全米オープン、全米プロ他）
などを取材。
2005年ロイター通信写真部入社。

Toru Hanai was born in 1973 in Tokyo. He studied photography at Nihon University in Japan before beginning
his career at a local newspaper in 1996.
In 2005, he joined Reuters as staff photographer.
He has been at the forefront of news photography in Japan, covering anything from the G7 Ise-Shima summit to the March 2011 nuclear disaster in Fukushima. He has covered various global sports events such as the FIFA World Cup in 2010, 2014 and 2018, and the Olympic Games in London, Rio de Janeiro and Tokyo.
He now works as a freelance photographer.
